Parenting support
Parenting is one of the most rewarding and most demanding jobs there is, and nobody gets a manual. Whether you're facing toddler meltdowns, a struggling teen, co-parenting after a divorce, or patterns from your own childhood you don't want to pass on, you don't have to figure it out alone.
Together we work on healthy parenting skills: setting consistent, loving limits, staying calm in hard moments, communicating so kids feel heard, and building a connection that lasts. Parents are welcome to come on their own or together.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful and preferred therapy for people who have experienced trauma.
Trauma can come from a single significant event, or from less intense experiences repeated over time, such as childhood neglect or mistreatment. It can get locked into the nervous system and cause difficulties long after the events have passed. In many situations EMDR can resolve what years of talk therapy haven't.
What happens at a pre-op evaluation?
Insurance companies keep the format of these evaluations fairly standard. We'll talk about your weight journey in a non-judgmental setting, explore how emotions and experiences have influenced weight gain and loss, and look at how weight and any other mental health concerns affect your candidacy for bariatric surgery.
Feelings, actions and thoughts
Our feelings, actions and thoughts constantly influence each other. If we feel deep down that relationships aren't safe, we may push away partners we actually care about. If we've told ourselves an old story that we don't deserve success, we may quietly sabotage ourselves despite wanting to thrive.
We assess and work at all three levels, so the changes you make actually last.
